Naseej organized last Saturday evening, October 3rd, a reception ceremony at Riyadh Marriott Hotel in honor of Mr. J. Jordan, president of Online Computer Library Center (OCLC), a global Incorporation specialized in library solutions during his visit to Riyadh.

During the ceremony, Engineer Abdul Jabbar Al Abdul Jabbar, Naseej Executive President, delivered an address in which he welcomed the guests and praised the strong relationship between Naseej and OCLC.

Then Mr. Jordan made his speech reviewing the future vision for libraries and librarians in a world full of challenges. He drew attention to the current library status in cyberspace compared to search engines giants like Google, Facebook and others, pointing to what must be adopted by libraries today of openness, cooperation and initiative. Lastly, he mentioned some important initiatives undertaken by OCLC in a step towards a new era of library services to cope with the enormous development in information technology and knowledge society.

The ceremony was attended also by the Acting Director of King Abdulaziz Public Library, the Director of the Arab Index and a number of libraries affairs deans, academics and specialists in the field of information technology and knowledge management residing in the city of Riyadh.
