Dr. Khalid Al-Mogren, Rector of Al Majmaah University, has launched the Desire2Learn Learning Environment and e-Courses Development Solution from Naseej, the Arab world’s leader in e-learning solutions and exclusive agent for Desire2Learn in the region. The event was introduced by the Deanship of eLearning and Distance Education at Al Majmaah University, and was attended by the Deanship members and Naseej Executive President, Eng. Abduljabbar Al-Abduljabbar.

Dr. Moslem Al-Dossari, Dean of e-Learning and Distance Learning, stressed the educational and pedagogical importance of both projects for the university‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎s faculty, students and staff. They will provide top-quality academic services, enhance human resources development programs, augment institutional efficiency, and help sustain the university‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎s cutting-edge e-learning infrastructure and world-class solutions, he said. He stated further: “Thanks to the complete harmony and understanding between the university and Naseej, the project has been delivered in record time and problems have been avoided.”

Director of Naseej‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎s Knowledge Assets Management Division Eng. Mohammad Hussamaddin elaborated on the project plan. Underpinning the project, he said, is teamwork, which will ensure the mechanism for deliverables is executed, other requirements are implemented, and a spirit of cooperation exists with the IT Deanship in terms of infrastructure, and with the Admission Deanship regarding admission, registration, professional training and technical support. He added: “The project comprises six solutions, namely: Learning Environment, Learning Content Development and Management, Learning Repository, Virtual Classrooms, Desire2Learn Insights, and the Mobile Learning and e-Exam System.”
 
Addressing the audience, Dr. Omar Al-Saidie, eLearning Deanship Consultant, stated: “Al Majmaah University has adopted a gradual strategy whereby more than 100 e-courses will be developed by the end of next academic year. This plan aims finally to set up a localized center for e-courses development at the University.”
