?Naseej – the Arab world‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎s leading provider of knowledge management solutions – will be a key sponsor of the 24th Annual Conference and Exhibition of the Special Libraries Association/Arabian Gulf Chapter. Entitled “Big Data and Its Investment Prospects: The Way Towards Knowledge Integration”, the event will be held on March 6–8, 2018 at the Grand Millennium Hotel, Muscat, Oman.
Each year, the event brings together a large number of experts, professionals, academic researchers, and suppliers of library products and services. It provides a valued opportunity to exchange information and enhance communication between practitioners and professionals in the sector, and to explore interesting trends in knowledge and information management and the provision of services aimed at library users.

Engineer Al-Tarifi emphasized the important role such conferences play in identifying the most important issues and topics of interest to the sector. In addition, he concluded, the event provides a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas and viewpoints with specialists in the information sector and to help libraries become a basic resource of knowledge in their communities.
At the exhibition, Naseej will showcase a number of cutting-edge solutions and technologies designed to support libraries and librarians in the region. Visitors will be introduced to Naseej‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎s next-generation library management solutions, including its innovative Sierra Library Services Platform for Academic and Research Libraries, SirsiDynix‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎s Symphony for Public and National Libraries.
Naseej will also present B2N‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎s Digitization Solutions for Libraries, as well as the latest information resources and professional databases from IEEE, Ebsco, AskZad, IGI Global, Credo, SAE International, Elsevier Clinical Solutions, and much more. Conference participants will also be updated on the services and projects of the Arab Union Catalog, and learn more about its membership requirements.
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet and discuss their needs with an integrated team of Naseej experts able to explain new products, provide advice and offer practical solutions.
Naseej Academy, the non-profit initiative of Naseej, will present two workshops in cooperation with the Association of Specialized Libraries, Arabian Gulf Branch, on March 4–5, as part of the conference. The first workshop, entitled “Big Data for Strategic Planning and Decision Making in Academic Libraries”, will be led by Mr. Scott Lipp, senior consultant with Iknow, a leading international consulting firm specializing in knowledge management. The second workshop, “Effective Management of Big Data and Research Data within Academic Libraries”, will be led by Marshall Bridging, an accomplished consultant, writer and keynote speaker who has authored many publications in the field of big data management and information systems.
During the SLA–AGC Award Dinner, Naseej, as co-contributing sponsor of the event, will announce the winners of and present the Academy‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎s awards for the best Arabic and English papers presented during the conference. The winners of the “2018 Mortenson Center Associates Program” award will also be announced, along with the names of those distinguished students of library science at Gulf universities who won scholarships awarded by the Academy and were selected to attend this year‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎s event.
Naseej is a regular sponsor of events that support the development of the library sector, such as its annual sponsorship of the annual conference of the Arab Federation of Libraries and Information.
