Ankabut the UAE National Research and Education Network (NREN) is launching the Desire2Learn Virtual Learning Environment on its network for member institutions. A first in the Middle East, the service will enable Ankabut members to access the virtual learning environment at 10GB speed, with a login speed of 1GB.
This leading initiative was announced by Dr. Fahim Al Nuaimi Ankabut s Chief Executive Officer at the 9th Users’ Meeting, held at the American University of Sharjah on October 23, 2013. His Highness Sheikh Dr./Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the American University of Sharjah, is patron.
In collaboration with Naseej, the sole and exclusive agent for Desire2Learn in the Middle East and North Africa, Ankabut will offer the Desire2Learn Virtual Learning Environment on Ankabut Cloud. Universities will have access to the environment through Ankabut Network, in addition to the professional training services and technical support offered by Naseej to Ankabut members.
Also at the 9th Users Meeting on October 23, Dubai Healthcare City announced its decision to join Ankabut Network s Virtual Learning Environment. It is the first academic institution to join the network, which will enable it to provide students with cutting-edge virtual learning solutions.
