?King Fahad National Library has selected Naseej to implement RFID solutions that will enhance the security of its collection and enable it to better manage its circulation workflows.
King Fahad National Library occupies a privileged place in Saudi Arabia in the field of information documentation and publishing, and in providing information services to citizens. In this context, the security and integrity of its collection is of paramount importance. The library has selected Naseej as having the solution that best meets its needs. Naseej‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎s Advanced Integrated Technology Solutions & Services and its RFID equipment, systems and technologies combine flexibility and elegance with cutting-edge technology, helping libraries to manage their collections and protect them from theft or loss.
Naseej‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎s modern and integrated solutions are expected to solve many of the technical problems that typically plague the library sector. Furthermore, application of Naseej‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎s globally advanced technologies is in line with King Fahad National Library‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎s comprehensive strategic vision.
The project will enable the library to apply and automatically program labels according to data in its catalogue, ensuring that items are stored in their proper place on the shelves. The installation of high-security gates linked to the central management and automated library systems will minimize the loss or theft of items as a result of security breaches.
Workstations for employees throughout the library will be networked by means of the OPAC system and SIP2 protocol, enabling remote monitoring and modification of devices and programs.
In addition to providing King Fahad National Library with RFID hardware and software, and relevant technical documentation, Naseej will train library staff in the use of the technology and carry out knowledge transfer.
