Naseej – the Arab World’s leader in Knowledge Management Solutions – was a gold sponsor of the Lebanese Library Association Conference held at Crown Plaza Hotel, Hamra, Beirut, Lebanon, on May 22–22. This year‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎s conference, titled “iUser DBEvolution: An Information Revolution”, was held in collaboration with the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA) – Asia and Oceania Regional Section.

The conference focused on the new concept of Information in Motion (IIM) – information anytime, anywhere and in any form. IIM seeks to make technology and information services more timely, relevant, and effectively responsive to user needs and expectations. Accordingly, Naseej showcased its latest Sierra Library Services Platform from Innovative Interfaces. This state-of-the-art platform ensures academic and research libraries are seamlessly integrated with local and international Union Catalogs, enabling patrons to access items of interest wherever they are available. Also, Sierra enables powerful integration with bibliographic providers and digital repositories. This, in turn, provides local libraries with an up-to-date bibliographic catalog, which ensures users have easy access to e-resources and management services. The platform‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎s fully customizable analytical tools also enable generation of detailed circulation reports.

Eng. Abdullah Al Turaifi – Naseej VP – says of the new capabilities offered by Sierra: “Sierra Library Services Platform enables smooth integration with Google Scholar, Google Books, Summon and Ebsco Discovery Services. Thus, Sierra enables patrons to use more e-books, to access a wider range of newspaper and magazine articles, and to run web-scale discovery, which capitalizes on academic and research libraries’ investment in electronic resources aimed at connecting users to article-level content.”
