Naseej – the Arab world’s leader in Knowledge Management Solutions – participated in the first Academic Conference organized by the Deanship of Library Affairs at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, Riyadh, KSA, on December 17–18, 2014.
With the theme “Modern Library Developments: Expectations and Leading Initiatives”, the conference addressed a number of key topics, including the latest technologies for collections building and development, library and information services, and technical processing. Participants sampled innovative technologies for improving the overall quality of libraries, enhancing a knowledge-based economy and for creating world-class electronic repositories.
 
The conference aimed to achieve a set of strategic objectives, including the benefit from the specialists’ expertise and sharing their insights to enhance libraries, in addition to introducing the latest strategies and information technology that will assist libraries to keep pace with the information age. Participants obtained up-to-date perspectives on information services designed to support learning and academic research. They also had access to new methods of optimizing librarians’ performance. Furthermore, the conference offered valuable suggestions on all aspects of planning for effective progress of libraries through securing state-of-the-art library infrastructure. 

At the exhibition held as part of the conference, Naseej showcased its latest library management solutions, including Innovative’s Sierra Library Services Platform for academic and research libraries, and SirsiDynix’s Symphony for public libraries.
