Naseej, the Arab world‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎s leader in Knowledge Management Solutions, is sponsoring the UAE Advanced Network for Research and Education, 8th Ankabut Users’ Meeting, to be held at Paris-Sorbonne University, Abu Dhabi, on 20–21 February.
 
The meeting, on the theme of “Discover Ankabut,” is being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
 
Wajdi Tahmoush, Technical Services Manager at Naseej, will compare the performances of virtual and physical models for building union catalogues, and discuss the role of union catalogues in locating and requesting materials from other libraries through the interlibrary loan service, and in enabling researchers to access collections.
 
The meeting will address many important issues for higher education, libraries and research centers in the Middle East, including: Ankabut Strategy & Services Roadmap , Mobility in IPv6, next generation library technology in indexing and searching content, Ankabut Data Center, educational technology in Arabic major student–teachers‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎ education, the contribution of remote detection and GIS to research and their operational applications in the human and environmental geosciences, Campaigning for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and the role of media. In addition, colleagues from the UAE academic, research and corporate communities will present papers on the theme of “Connect, Communicate and Collaborate .”
