Her Majesty Queen Rania al Abdullah inaugurated a new Lecture Hall Complex at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), in Irbid. Queen Rania unveiled a plaque commemorating the opening, before President of JUST, Professor Abdallah Malkawi, briefed her on the new facility.

At the university library, Queen Rania was briefed by its Acting Director, Eng. Raed K. Al-Zoubi, on the range of services provided to library patrons. The vast facility can accommodate around 2,500 users at a time (with an average of 6,000 visitors per day), and includes 180,000 books covering all fields of knowledge. In addition, the library has 50,000 volumes of issued scientific journals, annual subscriptions to 210,000 ebooks, and access to 41 databases, including about 36,000, full-text, electronic journals. Access to all these resources is free for students and faculty members.

Her Majesty met with a number of students, who discussed the self-service system, which allows users to borrow and return books online without the help of a librarian, and explained how they can conduct free online searches for any resource using the librarys computers, or their own laptops or smartphones. Students described the benefits they derive from such services, and especially from the Central Search Service, which allows them to find any electronic or printed publication using a single inclusive index.

Naseej supplied, installed and operates a complete 3M RFID Solution for JUST, including the self-check system which enables patrons students, faculty, researchers, staff and the public to borrow library items on their own, as well as an Integrated Sorter and Return System, whereby patrons can return their borrowed items through a friendly external book drop. Returned items are then automatically sorted and prepared for re-shelving. The library is operated through a consortium based on the library system provided by Naseej.
